Mini-Display Port is a miniaturized version of Display Ports the newest digital display interface developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). Most modish Mac-book series laptops come equipped with the mini display port interface for external video displays. Check your laptop to make sure it has the mini display port connection or not. This is a five-inch adapter for use with a standard HDMI cable. Connect the cable to the machine using the adapter, then connect to an external monitor or other display device with HDMI input jacks, and you’re all set.
Make sure the on TV menu has the correct HDMI port labeled. Use a magnifying glass on the HDMI port to verify its number, and make sure it corresponds with the one on the menu as the one being selected on the screen menu. If it does, and you are sure it is plugged in all the way, it may be you have a faulty Display Port HDMI adapter if all you are getting is a blank screen, and Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Displays recognizes the second display as being selected. You may need to on the computer’s setup change one of the Options in Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Displays.
